My mission is to help organizations share stories that inform, inspire, and connect with their audiences.

Teaches communication classes as needed on a semesterly basis. College teaching experience includes in-person and online COMM courses such as Intro to Mass Communication, Intro to Cinema, and Public Speaking.

CITY OF SAN ANTONIO

2023-2024

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST 

Served as the City of San Antonio’s first dedicated Social Media Strategist, leading citywide efforts to create engaging and informative content for residents. Developed comprehensive social media policy guidelines establishing consistent standards across all City departments, and collaborated with more than 40 departments to support their communication goals. Earned the City its first national social media award—“Best Use of Video”—at the 2024 NATOA (National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors) Conference. 

TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY

PUBLICATIONS WRITER

2021-2023

Developed and edited internal and external communications for the Texas State Graduate College to effectively engage diverse stakeholders, including current and prospective students, faculty, and staff. Managed all official social media accounts and served as the college’s webmaster, ensuring alignment with university marketing and branding guidelines as well as compliance with accessibility standards.

ON-AIR PERSONALITY 

Presented live and pre-recorded radio shows as an on-air personality on Magic 105.3 for Cox Media Group - San Antonio and 106.9 KHITS and 98.5 KVOO for Griffin Media - Tulsa. Other duties included board-operating for remote broadcasts, producing baseball games for radio, producing daily news broadcasts for radio, and engaging with listeners on-air, on social media, and in-person at station events.

2020

MARKETING ASSISTANT

Contributed to the development of the museum’s 50th anniversary digital marketing campaign by creating and managing the museum’s overall digital strategy for the web and social media. Produced video and audio content to enhance the museum’s digital presence, strengthen brand awareness, and increase membership. Also wrote and edited press releases to support promotional and public relations efforts.

Dissertation is a mixed-methods research design aiming to analyze local government social media usage in different contexts throughout the nation to better understand how local governments effectively use social media to engage residents and encourage democratic participation online. This topic is not only applicable to local governments, but also for any organization looking to understand the best communicative message strategies to encourage online dialog with potential stakeholders.
